Dhanbad July 7: The administration of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) has made a major shake-up with changing of principals in four constituent colleges in one stroke.
According to a notification issued by the university authority on Thursday evening, besides shifting the four college principals, Dr Kaushal Kumar has been appointed Registrar of the university for one year term.
Dr Kaushal Kumar was presently the principal of the university’s oldest constituent unit PK Roy Memorial College Dhanbad. In his place, Dr Kavita Singh, head of the Department of Psychology Post Graduate (PG), has been made the new principal of PK Roy Memorial College. An official said Prof Kavita Singh is the first woman principal of the 63-year-old college.
As per the notification of the university, Prof Sarita Srivastava, professor in charge of SSLNT Womens’ College (Department of Physics) has been made principal of Degree College Gomia ( Bokaro).
“Since I have become the first principal of this college, I have taken this assignment as a challenge and would give my best to turn it into a group of premier colleges of the university as well as in the state. Moreover, the institution is in a rural area, so my priority would be also on providing quality education and associating students of the area,” said Prof Srivastava.
Dr Ashok Kumar Maji, Coordinator College Development Council (CCDC) of the university has been made principal of SSLNT Women’s College. He had also an additional charge of Gomia Degree College but now he would discharge responsibility at SSLNT Women’s College only.
SSLNT College principal Dr Sharmila Rani has been sent to BSK Maithon as principal. Besides, the university has also appointed Dr Gauri Kumari, assistant professor of the department of Sanskriti RSP College as PG head of the Sanskriti department. She would replace Prof P S Choubey who is scheduled to retire next month.
