Samsherganj, May 5: Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, attacked the BJP on Friday, claiming that the CBI and ED will not assist the saffron party get votes in the general elections of next year.

The leader of the Trinamool Congress urged all opposition parties in the nation to band together and take on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections while speaking at a government event in Samsherganj in the Murshidabad district.

She said that the state administration has repeatedly asked the BJP-led Union government for assistance in stopping Ganga erosion, a significant problem in the districts of Murshidabad and Malda. She claimed that despite these requests, no assistance has been provided.

Banerjee gave “pattas” (land deeds) to persons who had lost their lands in the area due to river erosion.
