Jamshedpur, June 27: A 40-year-old man was found lying fatally injured on the NH-33 along Jhabri village under Chowka thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Tuesday early morning.
A patrolling party which spotted the injured rushed him to Chandil sub-divisional hospital where the doctors on emergency duty declared him dead.
The deceased who was in a ‘lungi’ and innerwear was suspected to have died of falling from a running vehicle.
There were grievous marks of head injuries and one of his hands was broken.
As the body is yet to be identified, the police are trying to get it identified so as to establish the reason behind the fatal injuries meted out to the victim.
“From the condition of the deceased, it appears that it is not a case of accident. He must have fallen victim to some foul play. We are, therefore, trying to get the body identified, ” said Chowka thana OC Abhishek Pratap while talking to lagatar24.com.
The OC said they made a lot of villagers to arrive at the sub-divisional hospital for identifying the body, but none of them could do so. He pointed out they are shifting the body to the MGM medical college mortuary where it would be kept for 72 hours expecting someone may turn up there to identify it during this period.
