Ranchi, Sept.10: Classes from 1 to 8 are likely to be reopened in city schools soon.
State finance minister Rameshwar Oraon hinted this while speaking as chief guest in a programme organized by the Private School and Children Welfare Association (PASWA), and Ranchi University unit of National Service Scheme at the university auditorium to honour as many as 850 teachers.
PASWA representatives from different parts of the country including its national president Shyamal Ahmed and Jharkhand state president Alok Dubey besides others were present on the occasion.
While hinting at the opening of junior section classes, Oraon said neighbouring state Bihar had already opened the schools and there is no justification for not making the same decision in the state.
Oraon, however, made it clear the final decision will be taken in a meeting of chief minister Hemant Soren with the disaster management department.
Oraon on the occasion assured owners of private schools that necessary relaxation will be given in land-related compulsion for recognition of private schools. He said he is also committed to give grants to the biggest Urdu School of Lohardaga. “Though there is a land-related compulsion for the same it will be relaxed and for that, a dialogue with the chief minister and education secretary will be done,” he added.
Oraon on the occasion lauded the effort of private schools to impart education despite the corona pandemic saying he has also studied in a private school and despite poverty majority of parents want to send their children to private schools.
Oraon during the programme expressed his concern over the government-run schools saying once he had ensured suspension of a government school headmaster, who worked as a civil contractor despite being a government teacher.
