Ranchi, Aug.12: Senior BJP leader Rajendra Sahu was shot at and seriously injured by unknown criminals at Jhariva Toli, about 100km from here under the Balumath police station area of Latehar district.
He was first admitted to a local hospital, from where he was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences for better treatment.
Two bike borne miscreants committed the crime, according to a police official.
Sahu is associated with the business of coal, another police official said and it is the hand of the Aman Sahu gang that is being suspected behind the crime.
“Recently when the police officials of Latehar district interrogated Aman Sahu taking him on remand the latter had said that Rajendra Sahu, Vikas Kumar Tiwari, Ranjit Gupta, Abdulla Ansari, Lavleshwar Mahato, Sumit Chatterjee, Vikas Tiwari, Manoj Yadav, RKTC Company and Ritvik Company officers are on his gang’s target. Apparently, he was right,” the official said.
Latehar superintendent of police Anjani Anjan could not be contacted for his comment on the matter.
