Daltonganj, July 21: 51 junior resident doctors, senior resident doctors and tutors of the Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) in Daltonganj have been asked to vacate their rooms in the two hostels meant for the boys and girls medicos respectively latest by July 25.

An order to this effect was issued by the principal of the MMCH Daltonganj Dr Kamender Prasad on July 18.

However, the order to vacate the rooms has evoked sharp reactions from the 51 going to be affected. One of the 51, Rakesh Kr Mallick, a senior resident doctor, termed this order to vacate the rooms as most impractical and unjust urging the principal to reconsider his order in the interest of 51.

On the other hand, the principal, Dr Kamender Prasad, said this order is to facilitate the room issue of 100 students who are expected to take their admission here in the first year of the session 2023-24 after the NEET counselling.

Dr Prasad said as these 51 have occupied 51 rooms there is going to be a crunch of rooms for the freshers.

However, the principal said we ask these 51 to live two in one room and that way 26 rooms will stand vacant. Further, they are advised to live on the ground and the first floor only.
