Jamshedpur, July 6: The southwest monsoon has again become weak in Jharkhand resulting in restricted rainfall activity over the state.
Weathermen said light rain was expected in various districts today. Some places would also witness lightning and thunder.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh with an associated cyclonic circulation was extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards.
The monsoon trough was today passing through Jaisalmer, Bhilwara, the centre of Low-Pressure Area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh, Pendra Road, Sambalpur, Balasore and thence southeastwards to East-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above the mean sea level.
The maximum temperature in most places including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Daltonganj would hover between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius.
Rain statistics suggested that Jharkhand has so far received 138 mm of rain against a normal of 236 mm, a deficit of 42 per cent.
