New Delhi, Dec 16: After Washington DC announced plans to make public transport free, Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal sneered at the BJP in his latest tweet, asking, ‘Should it be ridiculed as muft ki revadi?’

“Washington DC makes public transport free. Should it be ridiculed as ‘muft ki revadi’? No. Providing public services free to its citizens without burdening them with extra taxes reflects honest and sensitive govt, which saves money and provides facilities to its people,” CM tweeted.

Washington DC will offer free bus rides on all routes permanently starting from next summer, and other major cities such as Boston and Denver may follow suit, reports the Daily Mail.

The city has decided to expand the transit services under a plan unanimously approved by Washington DC`s Council last week. It has also been decided to waive the fare for passengers on the city’s subway buses by $2 from around July 1.

Notably, the ‘word war’ between the AAP and BJP began after PM Modi warned people about the ‘Revdi Culture’ at the opening ceremony of the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh in July. PM Modi had said it could be ‘very dangerous’ for the country’s development.
