Ranchi, Mar 1: New Trauma Centre of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) can prove to be a boon for the patients provided that the RIMS management starts as soon as possible.
However, lack of manpower is hindering the operation of the trauma centre. While discussing all these points, the Medical Superintendent in charge of RIMS, Deputy Superintendent of Medical and In-charge of Critical Care once again inspected the Trauma Centre and assured to start it soon.
Medical Superintendent of RIMS Dr Hiren Birua said that there is a plan to shift the Central Emergency to New Trauma Centre. Keeping in view the guidelines of the state government, preparations are being made to improve the health facilities further. In this episode, an inspection of NTC has been done.
“Within the next 20 to 25 days, NTC will be made completely smooth, so that people can get better health facilities. The management has a plan to shift the old emergency to NTC,” Dr Birua said.
In charge of the same critical care, Dr PK Bhattacharya said, “the number of corona patients in RIMS has come down to zero, due to which we are all breathing a sigh of relief. If the management provides manpower for the New Trauma Centre, it will prove to be a boon for the people of the state.”
The New Trauma Centre of RIMS is of four floors. Green, yellow and red zones have been created here. According to the critical condition of the patients, there is also a system to admit them to the same zone. Apart from ICU, ventilator, there is also a system for radiology and pathology examination. 160 staff has been requisitioned for all four floors of the new trauma centre. These include 80 nurses and 40-40 ward boys and sweepers.
