Ranchi: In a significant development in the Lohardaga arms recovery case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has interrogated two notorious Maoist leaders, Neeraj Singh Kherwar and Ranthu Oraon. The agency’s investigation revealed Neeraj’s key involvement in the arms recovery case, and he provided crucial details about his accomplices and other Maoists linked to the incident.
The NIA also questioned Ranthu Oraon regarding his role in the incident and the involvement of other Maoists. The agency is expected to gain vital insights into the Maoist network and the channels used for arms supply, which could help security agencies enhance their anti-Maoist strategies.
Key Details of the Case
• Neeraj Singh Kherwar: A former Zonal Committee member of the CPI (Maoist) from Palamu district, Neeraj is currently lodged in Hazaribagh Open Jail.
• Ranthu Oraon: A former Sub-Zonal Committee member of the Maoist organization from Gumla district, Ranthu was arrested by Gumla Police on October 2 last year and is currently in Hotwar Jail.
This interrogation is expected to provide critical information to crack down on the Maoist network and curb the flow of illegal arms in the region.
