Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi criticized Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, saying that despite being given a second opportunity to lead the state, his government has failed to make any concrete progress or meaningful changes even after more than 100 days in office. According to Marandi, the promises made during elections have been reduced to hollow speeches, lacking any visionary policies or serious efforts toward development.
Most Women Deprived of ‘Maiya Samman’ Benefits
Marandi highlighted the failure of the much-publicized Maiya Samman scheme, aimed at empowering women socially and economically. He stated that complicated procedures and stringent conditions effectively denied the majority of women any benefits. Using administrative excuses such as incomplete paperwork, the government has allegedly cheated women, betraying their trust and dignity.
Employment Promises Reduced to Election Gimmicks
He further criticized the government’s failure to fulfill promises of employment for youth, describing them as mere election slogans. Marandi accused the government of not taking meaningful steps to ensure transparent and effective employment opportunities, forcing thousands of young people to struggle without support or a clear roadmap.
Rising Crime Rates Expose Administrative Failure
Expressing concern over increasing crime rates in the state, Marandi pointed out that serious crimes like murder, rape, land-grabbing, extortion, and organized crime have become commonplace. The government’s silence and apparent inaction have reportedly allowed criminals and land mafias to operate freely. He alleged that the state administration has become insensitive and inactive, giving criminals free rein to exploit resources.
Hemant Soren Exemplifies Lack of Vision and Integrity
According to Marandi, Hemant Soren’s tenure has demonstrated an absence of both intent and effective policies. He accused Soren of misleading the public merely to retain power and later abandoning public welfare concerns upon securing his position. The opposition leader argued that the trust placed in the current government by Jharkhand’s citizens has repeatedly been betrayed.
Public Feels Neglected and Will Respond Democratically
Marandi concluded by emphasizing that Jharkhand’s citizens currently feel neglected and disillusioned due to governmental failures that have led the state to lag behind others. However, he expressed confidence that the public will respond to this betrayal in future elections, choosing transparency, development, and justice over deceit, corruption, and crime.
