Daltonganj, June 20: In order to maintain the law and order in the area in view of nationwide Agnipath protests and Bharat Bandh, one company of the CRPF’s 134 battalions has been stationed in Daltonganj to assist the police.

Life in the area is going on as usual with the regular traffic on the roads. The flow of heavy lorries, vehicles, and other cargo transporters are unaffected. Buses are running within the district as well.

Commandant of the 134 battalion Sudesh Kumar said, “We have deployed one company of our boys and officers in consultation with the local police.”

The deployment of the CRPF is at locations which are vulnerable and strategic from the point of view of the law and order. The commandant said that they have identified locations which are ‘grave.’

The CRPF is accompanied by its dog squad as well. A posse was at the Daltonganj-Ranchi road turn where the jawans asked a senior journalist not to take pictures while they were sitting. However, they later realized what they ought not to have said and allowed the lensman to take pictures.

Commandant Sudesh Kumar too was out taking a stock of their boys and officials.

Lagatar24.com spotted Commandant Sudesh Kumar at platform number 1 of the Daltonganj railway station early morning today who said he is visiting his boys and officers to take stock of the situation which is fine with no problem around.

An RPF inspector, Banarasi Yadav, sought permission from Commandant Sudesh Kumar to allow the CRPF contingent to join a brisk march around the periphery of the railway station saying that it would be a kind of show to youths warning them not to indulge in any misadventures.

The Commandant immediately asked one of his officials to ensure the CRPF contingent does the peripheral march which it did.

Apart from this, a drone was also flown on the premises of the Daltonganj railway station to keep an eye on the situation.

Station Superintendent of Daltonganj railway station Anil Kumar Tiwary said, “We are going to have one rake of cement bags placed at our Daltonganj railway station today. The bags of cement will be coming to Daltonganj in 42 wagons of the goods train.”

Tiwary said this traffic of goods train is on day and night and is not cancelled. Transportation of coal etc is on round the clock.

A senior ticket examiner B M Pandey said, “We have ensured that information regarding trains cancelled on this route is given to the public at regular intervals.”

Station superintendent Anil Kumar Tiwary said, “We have one pair of Gomoh Chopan passenger trains that are running on this route. This passenger train has not been cancelled.”

Asked how come this passenger train is making an Up and Down journey, the station superintendent said this train runs between two states Jharkhand and UP. It starts or ends at Chopan which is in Jharkhand and similarly it ends or starts from Chopan in UP. This train does not pass through any railway station in Bihar.

Meanwhile, the cancellation of the reservation with a full refund is on. It has touched around 180 plus and going.

However, passengers who are cancelling their return train reservations are to bear the cancellation charge.

A railway official Manisha of the commercial section said the cancellation charge of the reservation for journeys ahead is legitimate as of now those trains, where the reservations are, have not been cancelled today.

The passengers contest that since they could not go because of the cancellation of the trains, their return reservation cancellation should not be charged for the cancellation.

Meanwhile, Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha has taken a very serious note of a WhatsApp message purportedly from a leader of the left-wing political party whose content is inimical to peace and public tranquillity.

The SP said it is strange and belies all logic as to how such a WhatsApp message was forwarded by those who are supposed to contribute to the maintenance of the law and order.

He has issued a strict warning asking people not to indulge in any act, be it crowding the street with no purpose or with message or text that threatens public order. The SP reiterated that the police will deal with such errant in a very strict manner.

Daltonganj SDPO Surjit Kumar said, “Our SP and the entire police force here are keeping strict vigil.”

The civil and police administrations have set up two detention camps at the town hall here where people nabbed under section 151 of the CrPC would be put up till the end of the day or when there is no gravity in letting them off.
