Hazaribag, Nov.2: The Sadar police team led by ASI Sanjay Singh chased a car having the board of Judicial Academy Jharkhand but carrying a cow in it. The team nabbed three cattle smugglers and started a probe to know why they were using a judicial magistrate board on the front of the car.

A few days back, the smugglers were arrested in West Singhbhum for using a petrol tanker to smuggle the cows.

Sources said the car was coming from Barhi side and moving on NH-33 when the Sadar police team asked the driver to stop near District More in town. But the driver increased the speed, making the police chase the car. Near Sadar chowk, it was forced to stop at 1AM. The police found a cow on the back seat of this car.

The three men in the car were arrested and are identified as Shamim, Asgar and Imtiyaz. Shamim is a resident of Ranchi.

Police officials didn’t rule out the possibility that the trio were using VIP boards on the front of their car to hoodwink police so as to carry out the illegal work of cattle smuggling. We are interrogating them to get more details about their work, added an officer.
