Daltonganj, Oct. 30: The Nilamber Pitamber University today held its 66th syndicate meeting at JS College Daltonganj. The meeting was presided over by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Ram Lakhan Singh.
A copy of the resolution issued by the university with regards to this meeting read that it is agreed upon to accord provisional affiliation to the Palamu Institute of Pharmacy to start its B. Pharma course but is ‘subject to the approval of the state government’ for the session 2020 -24.
In another development, the university has given the ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) to Nirmala College of Nursing, Rehla for the B. Sc. nursing course. A few more educational institutions were granted the NOC today.
The case of a contractual teacher Mansoor Ahmad Khan could not be resolved today. According to sources, the university is having an inquiry against him. It is not clear as to what kind of inquiry this contractual teacher is facing and what its status is right now. Proctor, K C Jha, assured the syndicate saying that the updated report in connection with the teacher would be placed in the next meeting of the syndicate.
Sources said that a member, Chandrashekhar Dubey, did most of the talking today in the syndicate meeting suggesting a plethora of things to be done by the university. Dubey refrained from making any remark on the financial issues saying he would like to be first duly posted with the facts about these things from the Chancellor secretariat.
According to insider information, this is the first time any member desires to bring in the Chancellor secretariat in the course of the meeting of the syndicate whose all in all is the vice-chancellor.
Dubey went further to ask the institution to set aside a site for students and others to hold sit-ins or demonstrations and to take action if a law and order crisis arose.
