MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, May 4: Two youths of Chatti Bariatu got seriously injured as they fell 20 feet off of the bridge due to the broken railing of the Chamgadda bridge.

Both the youths identified as Prayag Mahto and Karu Mahto were taken to Barkagaon (Hazaribagh) Community Health Center for treatment, with the help of locals.

Seeing the condition of both, the doctor referred them to Hazaribagh. But the injured Prayag Mahto died in the middle of the way. The deceased has a three and a half-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son.  The other injured Karu Mahto is being treated at Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital.

According to the information, Prayag, along with his friend Kajru, was going to his home in Chatti Bariatu under Keredari block after attending the wedding ceremony of his younger brother in Chamgda village of Barkagaon block. In the meantime, a vehicle dodged near the Chamgadda bridge, during which he tried to save himself, but he along with his friend and the bike fell under the bridge.

Around 3 years ago the divider of the Chamgadda bridge was broken due to a vehicle accident. Since then, there have been many incidents of vehicles falling down from the pool where three bike riders have died so far. The administration needs to pay special attention to this so that repeated accidents can be prevented.
