Ramgarh, Aug 8: Over a dozen people’s health suddenly deteriorated after eating Khukdi (a type of wild mushroom) at Matkama village under the Bhadaninagar area of Ramgarh district on Sunday night.

The victims were immediately admitted to a private hospital. All of them are out of danger now and have been discharged.

According to the information, the entire family of Matkama resident Kartik Mahato and Dilip Mahato fell victim to food poisoning after eating Khukdi which was brought from a nearby pond.

After eating the dish prepared at home, everyone started vomiting. They were rushed to a private clinic in Bhadaninagar for treatment where everyone was given injections and saline.

According to the elderly villagers, some varieties of Khukri are poisonous. There is a risk of food poisoning on consuming them and if the situation worsens, there is a fear of loss of life.
