Palamu police arrest eight, recover mobile phones, bikes

Daltonganj, Feb 4: Palamu police arrested eight school dropouts for robbing a passerby under the Paton police station on January 17 and decamped with two cell phones and cash worth Rs 1000.

Notably, the eight arrested have been identified as Luv Singh, Akhilesh Singh, Shiv Shakti Ram, Pawan Kumar, Amit Thakur, Shivam Kumar, Sunil Kumar and Ashish Kumar Singh.

The victim lodged the FIR on January 18 with the Paton police station and a team of police officials led by the assistant superintendent of police cum sub-divisional police officer Rishabha Garg was put on the job to crack this case. 

Police nabbed all eight and recovered the two cell phones that were looted at the gunpoint which was also recovered besides two bikes on which these eight rode and waylaid the passerby. 

The eight arrested said they spent the money on miscellaneous items for themselves. 

Incidentally, all the eight remanded in judicial custody are in the age group of 18 to 20 and are from the Paton police station.
