Daltonganj, Jan14: Panki police in Palamu has cracked a case of kidnapping for ransom. The kidnapped was rescued and two of his kidnappers were nabbed by the police. One bike of the victim too has been recovered.
SDPO Lesliganj Alok Kr Tuti said the kidnapped Mahboob Ansari is a quack and does Kissan Credit Card work also.
On January 12, Mahboob Ansari was kidnapped with his bike in the evening. His family reported this matter as that of missing. However the family of Mahboob got a call of ransom worth two lakhs of rupees. Panki police swung into action giving high priority to this case of kidnapping and at Chilho Pahari under Tarhassi police station Mahboob was rescued and his bike recovered too.
Local moles of police and technical assistance helped Panki police to bust this kidnapping.
Officer in charge of the Panki police station H K Gupta said the family of Mahboob even paid 25,000 rupees through Phonepe.
“We are trying to find out who is the recipient of this 25,000 rupees so sent on phone pe,” said Gupta.
Police nabbed two of his kidnappers Arjun and Sudhir both belonging to the Bhuiyan community. Two cell phones, one each of Arjun and Sudhir, have also been recovered.
The mastermind behind the kidnapping Kalam Ansari is absconding. Kalam hails from Palamu but at present he is hiding in Lohardaga district. The arrested accused have been remanded in judicial custody today.
