Daltonganj, Mar 14: Holi revellers have been admonished not to do any stunt on the roads, said the Sadar Sub Divisional Officer Rajesh Kumar Sah.
The SDO Sadar said that it has been seen that youths go berserk with the speed of their vehicles on road in Holi’s spirit, hence, jeopardising their own lives along with others. He said that parents should take care that their minor wards do not go on the roads with bikes.
According to sources, road accidents go up either before Holi or on the day of Holi in Palamu.
“We want Holi celebration in such a manner which does not cause any inconvenience to others. Many people in every community don’t play colourful Holi. Holi revellers should respect their sentiments and forced splashing of colour should be avoided by all means,” said the SDO Sadar.
SDO Sadar said he would definitely prefer eco-friendly Holi as it has its beauty and advantages.
“Our Mahila self-help groups have readied gulal and other holi products under the name Palash which is very eco friendly. Harsh colours, burnt oil, Mobil etc must not be used,” he added.
Sah said that the administration is serious about posts coming on social platforms which must not be hurtful to any member of any community.
He said if someone gets any objectionable message or text digitally then it under no circumstances should be forwarded to anyone except government officials and police as a matter of information and subsequent follow up.
“Any digression or defiance of set rules to defile communal harmony will be met with stern hands of the law. Let this festival of colour be not discoloured,” he said.
On being asked that there are many communal hotspots in Palamu and Sadar subdivision too has a few communal flashpoints like Chando, Kankari, Satbarwa etc to which SDO Sadar said civil and police officials are keeping vigil on those places.
A total of 166 magistrates have been shortlisted for the round the clock duty only in the Sadar subdivision. 18 magistrates alone will be in the town. These magistrates will be on duty till the conclusion of the Holi (till March 20). A 24×7 district control room will be operational here in Daltonganj.
“We appeal to all the communities to have this festival or any other festival in all amity, understanding and harmony as there is no place for any communal rancour,” he said.
During festivals, chances of food adulteration go up in Palamu. On this, SDO Sadar said, “We have asked food safety officials to conduct surprise raids on eateries, sweet shops etc to ensure the quality of food is not any substandard.”
