Actor Paresh Rawal is back in the news after making a major revelation about the film “OMG 2,” claiming in a recent interview that the film’s original story idea was his, but that significant changes were later made to it, prompting him to distance himself from the project.
Original Story Was a Father-Son Drama, Says Rawal
According to Rawal, the original concept for “OMG 2” was a social drama centred on a father-son relationship, intended to address serious issues such as sex education, societal mindsets and a parent’s fight for justice for their child. He said that at the time, the story had no divine or godly character involved at all.
Story Changed After Akshay Kumar Joined the Project
Rawal revealed that once Akshay Kumar came on board, major changes were made to the storyline, including the introduction of a divine character. He said he disagreed with this shift in direction, which led to his decision to step away from the film, adding that he was never given any credit for the original story or concept.
“Many in the Industry Know the Idea Was Mine”: Rawal
Rawal claimed that several prominent figures in the film industry are aware that the original idea for the story belonged to him, naming Amit Rai, Akshay Kumar, Ashwin, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar and Salman Khan as people who know this to be true. He also speculated that Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan may have declined to be part of the film due to the sensitivity of the subject and the potential for controversy.
