Ranchi, Sept 23: A meeting of the Peace Committee was held on Thursday for maintaining peace on festivals and organising them according to the government’s covid guidelines in Ranchi. The meeting was organised under the leadership of the district administration. In view of Covid-19, the committee members put forward their views on organising the worship. Representatives and members of various committees talked about providing full assistance to the administration.
The members of various committees appealed that non-functional street light is the biggest problem in the successful conduct of the puja. It is not available in more than half of the city’s area. The committees appealed to the administration to get them repaired.
The committees said that this year ‘Prasad’ is to be delivered to the devotees through home delivery. There is a ban on the distribution of ‘Prasad’ in pandals. In such a situation, the committees said that devotees reach the pandal with great reverence to receive the offerings. A ban on this may hurt their faith, for which the administration should look into the concern.
On this occasion, the committees discussed immersion rules. They said that last time the idols were immersed according to the rules of the administration, but there was a problem of light at many places. Also, the ponds were very dirty. Along with this, problems like deployment of the police force, height of idols, problems in rain, tampering, parking etc. were discussed on the occasion. During this time people of other religions were told to give full cooperation to the administration and worship committees.
In the meeting, DC Chhavi Ranjan assured to discuss the appeals made by the committees. Along with this, he appealed to the committees to organize worship according to the guidelines and cooperate with the administration. He said that the administration does not want to trouble anyone, but appeals for full cooperation. The second wave of covid-19 was frightening. It is a good thing that the effect of infection is decreasing, but it is not over yet. Therefore, everybody should organize worship according to the guidelines. In case of any problem, anyone can contact the administration even 12 at the night, the DC said.
In the meeting, SSP Surendra Kumar Jha, while addressing the committees, said that the way worship was organised in Ranchi last time according to the covid-19 guideline was praised in other states as well. He appealed to everyone for the same kind of cooperation this year too.
