Daltonganj, June 17: An anti-encroachment drive was launched in the circulation area of the Kajrath Nawadeeh railway station under the East Central Railway of the Moghulsarai division on Friday.

According to the RPF Inspector Nabinagar R K Meena, under whose jurisdiction this railway station in Palamu district falls, 17 shops were removed in this anti-encroachment drive.

The drive was peaceful but security and peace concerns were high.

The shops so removed were of chicken sale, salon, mini hotel, fruit vending, textile, laundry etc.

The railways had served notices to the illegal encroachers to remove their structures on their own but many just did not pay any heed to it.

The administration then pressed in the JCB machine and then the illegal occupants began to move out from the circulation area of the railway here at Kajrath Nawadeeh railway station.
