New Delhi, Oct 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched Mission LiFE in the presence of António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations at the Statue of Unity, Ekta Nagar, Kevadia.

“The issue of climate change is being witnessed everywhere. Our glaciers are melting, rivers are drying up. Mission LIFE will help in fighting the climate crisis,” PM Modi said at the launch of ‘Mission LiFE’ in Kevadia.

“A perception was created that climate change is merely a policy-related issue & that both governments or international institutions will take steps regarding it. But now, people are feeling the effects of climate change,” he said.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Mission LiFe is anticipated to be an India-led worldwide public movement that will assure both individual and group action to safeguard and preserve the environment. It will serve as India’s flagship programme at the UN and other international forums to highlight climate action and the early accomplishment of the Sustainable Development Goals.
