New Delhi, April 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a video conference with chief ministers on Wednesday, to discuss the rising Covid-19 crisis in the country, according to an official.

Rajesh Bhushan, the Union Health Secretary, will also speak at the conference.

“PM Modi will interact with CMs on the Covid-related situation in the country through video conferencing tomorrow at 12 noon,” the official said.

Since the pandemic struck the country in 2020, the Prime Minister has met with the chief ministers of all states.

Modi has asked people to keep aware to the potential of the coronavirus and continue to adopt Covid-appropriate behaviour ahead of several celebrations on Sunday.

According to figures by the Union home ministry, India’s Covid tally jumped to 43,062,569 after 2,483 new infections were registered in a single day, while active cases fell to 15,636. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, and Haryana are among the states that have seen a spike in Covid cases.
