Dausa, Sep 12: General VK Singh, a former Army chief and current Union Minister, asserted that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) would soon merge with India “on its own.”

When asked about the demands of Shia Muslims in PoK requesting the opening of a border crossing with India during a press conference here in Dausa, the Union minister for State responded, “PoK will merge with India on its own, wait for some time.”

During the BJP’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra (PSY) program, the minister was speaking at a press conference in Dausa.

The Union minister also discussed the accomplishments of the just-ended G20 Summit, which was hosted by India. He claimed that India has proven its mettle in the globe and that the grandeur of the summit has given India a distinctive character on an international scale.

“The G-20 meeting was unprecedented. It has never been done before nor any other country except India can organise a summit like this. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has proved its mettle in the world. The G-20 group includes all the powerful countries of the world,” Singh said.

Coming down hard on the Rajasthan Government over the condition of law and order, the minister further said that the state is concerned by the weak law and order situation under the current Congress government.

“This was the reason why the BJP had to organise the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra to go among the people and listen to them. The people want a parivartan (change) and they are coming with us on this yatra and have made up their mind to bring about change,” he said, adding that the yatra is receiving a lot of support from the general public throughout the state.

Regarding the question on the BJP’s Chief Minister in the state for the upcoming assembly elections, V K Singh responded that the BJP does not announce the Chief Minister’s face wherever elections are held and instead campaigns only on the Prime Minister’s charisma.

“Everyone should assume that the party will give opportunity to such leaders who are good, useful and on whom the public has confidence,” he said.
