Police arrest woman for killing mother-in-law in Simdega

Ranchi, Jan.15: Police in Simdega arrested a 50-yr-old woman for killing her 80-yr-old mother-in-law.

The arrest took place within two hours after the incident of murder was reported at Mahabuang police station.

The accused daughter-in-law identified as Etwari Samad of Girja Toli slit the throat of her 80 years old mother-in-law Budhni Samad who died on the spot.

“Etwari Samad had escaped towards the forest after slitting the throat of her mother-in-law Budhni Samad. Etwari had become furious after some argument with her octogenarian mother-in-law,” a police official said, informing about the arrest.

“Two lady watchmen overpowered Etwari and brought her from the forest for legal action.  Police also recovered the knife used in the crime taken place in a fit of rage,” the police official said.

Police booked her under section 302 of the IPC, said SP Simdega.
