Ranchi, May 12: The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday carried out raids on the premises of a city builder through which the land of Pulse Hospital was purchased. The ED informed the PMLA court while seeking an extension of the police remand of the Chartered Accountant Suman Singh who was arrested along with IAS Pooja Singhal on the charge of money laundering.
The ED told the court that another search under “Section 17 of PMLA, 2002 is being conducted and ongoing on a renowned builder through which Pulse Hospital was purchased. During the search, many incriminating materials, incriminating materials are being recovered which need to be examined and corroborated with the Suman.” The builder is said to be one Govind Sarawgi whose residence on Kanke road was raided.
Ranchi-based Pulse Hospital is owned by Abhishek Jha who is the husband of IAS Pooja Singhal.
While the ED got four days extension of the police remand of CA it informed the court that fresh evidence has been gathered which are needed to be examined for which Pooja Singhal is needed to be confronted with her CA.
The ED said that Suman is deliberately withholding the information regarding Pooja Singhal and the funds laundered by her. The ED said that a huge amount of data is being extracted from the digital device such as the server of the office of Suman and the same is needed to be corroborated.
The ED said that many incriminating facts have been unearthed during the investigation so far which need to be confronted with the accused in the custody. The ED has said that Suman Singh is still withholding information about Pooja Singhal like the money she laundered through the purchase of properties and investments.
The ED informed the court that it is still examining who else is involved in the money laundering besides who are actual owners of the money recovered from the residence of Suman Singh.
