Ranchi, Dec.21: Poraiyahat MLA Pradeep Yadav cornered the state government today during the question hour of the Jharkhand state assembly for having no policy to revive sick industries in the state.
Yadav wanted to know from the government whether the it has a concrete plan to revive the sick industries but minister Mithilesh Thakur could not satisfy him on the issue.
Despite demanding a clear cut reply on the matter, Thakur kept on giving contradictory replies. First he said that the government has constituted a corporation to prepare a list. Then he said that 1,600 sick units have been identified and the government has planned to revive them by giving them relaxation in power bill, property tax and water tax.
Yadav pointed out the contradiction by saying that the industrial policy was formulated in 2012 and 2016 but nothing was done for the survival of sick industries and for this government should tell how much funds it has allocated for the job but the minister could not tell him. The minister said that anything could be said after diagnostic study.
Finally the speaker interfered in the matter and asked Yadav to end the matter giving opportunity to others to ask questions.
