Pragya Kendra operator fights back assailants in Jharkhand capital

Ranchi, Dec.7: Presenting an example of courage, an operator of a common service centre (Pragya Kendra) fought with two assailants and compelled them to escape leaving their firearms.

The incident took place on Tuesday at Mahavir Chowk in Hatia under Jagannathpur police station.

Officer-in-charge of Jagannathpur police station Arvind Kumar confirmed the incident saying ‘the name of the Pragya Kendra proprietor is Parikshit Nayak and his age is 32 years.

Kumar said: “The matter came to our knowledge last night and we started a probe into the matter.”

Asked about the firearms, OC Kumar said: “It is a single shot country made firearm known as Katta in common language.”

Kumar said the action of the proprietor remained heroic as he fought with the assailants but it is still a mystery for us what the motive of the assailant was.

“We expect a breakthrough in the matter by evening,” OC Kumar said.
