New Delhi, May 5: Prashant Kishor, a political strategist, said on Thursday that he will begin a ‘padyatra’ in Bihar on October 2.
“I will start a 3000-km padyatra from West Champaran Gandhi Ashram on October 2 with the aim to cover most of Bihar,” said Prashant Kishor in a press conference on Thursday.
“…We will reach out to people at their offices, knock on their doors to understand them, their issues and expectations,” he added.
“I am going to talk to around 17,000-18,000 people, who are aware of the problems in Bihar, and try to bring them on a single platform. We should be able to complete the process by August-September,” he further added.
Notably, Prashant Kishor sparked controversy in Bihar politics on Monday when he said in a cryptic tweet that it’s time for him to go to the people to better understand their problems and the way to Jan Suraj (people’s good governance).
Earlier, he has worked for a number of political parties, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, YSR Congress, Trinamool Congress, and others. He even joined Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United in 2018, but was ejected two years later due to major disputes with Kumar over their opposing viewpoints on a number of subjects, including the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, where he took a strong anti-BJP stance and slammed Kumar. Kishor declared his decision to stop acting as a professional election adviser after assisting Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in winning the Bengal assembly elections in 2021.
