New Delhi, June, 7: Following a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, the government has invited wrestlers who are protesting against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh to discuss their concerns.

Sports Minister Anurag Thakur stated in a tweet that the government was “willing to have a discussion with the wrestlers on their issues” on Tuesday after midnight.

He said, “I have once again invited the wrestlers for the same”.

BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been the target of the wrestlers’ protests, and they have called for his arrest. He has been accused of sexually harassing certain female wrestlers, which he has refused.

Officials stated that earlier, as part of the probe, the Delhi Police had taken the statements of Singh’s associates and those who were at his home in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.

Furthermore, they claimed that a juvenile complainant whose statement served as the foundation for a case brought against Singh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act had made a new statement in accordance with section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
