New Delhi, June 28: QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), the global higher education think-tank and University Rankings Portfolio, has released the QS World University Rankings 2023. Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai has made its place in the top 150 universities of the world. IIT Bombay has got 149th rank in this list. In the QS World University Rankings of the previous year, this university achieved 177th rank. In this way, IIT Bombay has jumped 28 places in the ranking list.

Notably, 2900 universities have been included in the ranking list, in which there are 45 Indian institutes.

For the first time in eight years, an Indian Higher Education Institute made it to the top 150. Earlier in 2016, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore had secured the 147th rank. However, this time IISc has slipped 70 places from 155th rank to 225th position. IISc is the third Indian institute, which has secured the top rank.

This time huge ups and downs have been seen in the QS World University Rankings 2023. IIT Delhi has got 197th rank in this list. Last year its ranking was 174. IIT Kanpur has secured the 278th rank. Last year it was at 264. Apart from this, IIT Madras has got 285th rank, which was 250th last year. Apart from this, IIT Guwahati has been ranked 364, IIT Roorkee 369 and Delhi University 407th in the QS World University Rankings 2023.
