New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will address the 62nd Foundation Day of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on April 1, 2025. He will deliver the prestigious D.P. Kohli Memorial Lecture, centered around the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – A Roadmap for CBI’.
CBI Officers To Be Honoured With Presidential Medals
During the ceremony, Minister Vaishnaw will also confer the President’s Police Medals and Police Medals for distinguished and meritorious services to CBI officials. The event will pay tribute to CBI’s founding director, the late Dharamnath Prasad Kohli, in whose memory this lecture series has been conducted annually since the year 2000.
D.P. Kohli’s Legacy And Vision
D.P. Kohli founded the CBI in 1963 and served as its first director until his retirement in 1968. Known for his visionary leadership, Kohli laid the foundation for what has grown into India’s premier investigative agency. Today, the CBI plays a pivotal role in probing complex cases related to corruption, financial fraud, and cybercrime. It also functions as India’s National Central Bureau for Interpol, contributing to international law enforcement coordination.
