Jamshedpur, Jan 6: An intense western disturbance passing through northwest India from the night of January 6 would again impact Jharkhand’s weather resulting in unseasonal showers.
Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over southwest Rajasthan
on January 7.
” The western disturbance coupled with the cyclonic circulation would result in rainfall activity over various districts of Jharkhand from Sunday ( January 9 ) onwards, ” said Abhishek Anand, head of IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
According to the forecast issued this afternoon, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely at isolated places over north-west and central Jharkhand on January 9.
On January 10 light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely at a few places over Jharkhand.
The forecast for January 11 suggested light to moderate rain or thundershower at many places over the state.
The IMD forecast indicated fog or mist in the early morning and mainly clear sky later in the next 24 hours.
Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to prevail at isolated places during the next 48 hours.
The forecast suggested no large change in night temperature during the next 24 hours thereafter gradual rise by (3-5) °C in minimum temperature.
Meanwhile, IMD data suggested that several places across the state including the capital was reeling under sub-10 chill.
Today, Deoghar recorded the state’s lowest minimum temperature of 6.5 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
