Noida, May 8: A squad of Rajasthan Police is in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida on Sunday to arrest TV journalist Aman Chopra for allegedly inciting hatred between different groups and hurting religious emotions.
According to the Dungarpur Kotwali police station, a man filed a FIR against Chopra, alleging that the journalist provided false and fictitious information by claiming that the Rajasthan government demolished a temple in Rajgarh, Alwar district, as retaliation for the demolition drive in Jahangirpuri.
On April 23, three FIRs were filed against Chopra in the districts of Bundi, Alwar, and Dungarpur, alleging sedition, outraging religious sensibilities, fostering hatred between two groups, and violating the IT Act.
“Our team is camping in Noida and searching all possible locations to trace him. Yesterday also our team went to Chopra’s house but he was not found there and his residence was locked,” said Dungarpur SP Sudhir Joshi.
He claims the high court ruling ignores the FIR filed in Dungarpur and grants a stay of execution in FIRs filed in Bundi and Alwar districts.
