Daltonganj, April 5: Around 600 people have been bound down under section 107 of the CrPC in Palamu, said SP Chandan Kumar Sinha today.
Sinha said out of 600, 153 people have been bound down in the town of Daltonganj.
“Anyone who tries to subvert peace and harmony and believes his veil of innocence or political affiliation will save him must keep in mind that police will smoke out such a person without fail to face the stringent action,” reminded the SP.
Section 107 CrPC restrains people who are a potential threat to peace and public tranquility.
A district-level peace committee meeting was held today in Pdt Deendayal Upadhayay Smriti Bhavan in Daltonganj on the occasion of the Ram Navami.
Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha, Assistant Superintendent of Police K Vijay Shankar, several sub-divisional police officers, SDOs, Ramnavmi committee, peace activists etc took part in it.
Shashi Ranjan asked the members of both the communities to keep sharing things. He said “Baat cheet karte rahein. Iska bahut fayda hai (Keep talking. It is very beneficial).”
He said there is no room for any kind of provocation. Impulses and nerves should be kept under control. “The administration is watching you,” reminded DC Shashi Ranjan.
Drones will be flown, said both DC and SP.
The SP said, “We have planned to have surveillance from the sky through the drone in Hussainabad also besides Daltonganj.” He said much depends upon the availability of the drones.
The Secretary General of the Ram Navami committee Jugal Kishore said the district level peace committee meeting was held in all cordiality and the administration heard them quite well.
“We have asked the administration to take one step forward and we will not be any behind them,” he said.
About the routes of the procession, Jugal Kishore said, “We have given the route licence to the police station to see the timing and date.”
Sources said the administration has also assured the Ram Navami committee of cooperation within the ambit of the law.
The SP said, “We told the Ram Navami committee that we are not going to them with ‘timer, inch and tape’ as if the clock ticks more we are not to pounce on them rather they should themselves act which do not upset the guideline anymore.”
Sources said a good thing was done today in the district level peace committee meeting. No officer (civil or police) sat on the stage. Everyone right from DC, SP to the peace activists all sat in a chair and on the floor.
SDO Sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah had to work hard for this who said if the battery of civil and police officials had sat on the stage in Pdt Deendayal Upadhayay Smiriti Bhavan then the chasm between the officers and peace committee members would have been as wider as ever.
He said here in Palamu, the Ram Navami procession is called ‘Gole’ and today both sides of us gave a picture of homogeneous Gole.
