Ramesh Dhanuka sworn in as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

Mumbai, May 28: Justice Ramesh D. Dhanuka took the oath of office as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on Sunday.

Ramesh Bais, the governor of Maharashtra, gave Dhanuka his oath of office in the Raj Bhavan.

Dhanuka, who was born on May 31, 1961, attended school in Mumbai. He acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and studied Law at the University of Bombay.

Before being elevated to the position of High Court Judge of Bombay in 1990, he began practising law in the Bombay High Court in 1985 in the chamber of Justice DR Dhanuka (Retired).

In the year 1990, Dhanuka joined the chamber of SR Shah, a renowned senior attorney and retired City Civil Judge.

He was on the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai’s senior counsel panel for a number of years and has represented the Municipal Corporation in numerous cases before the Bombay High Court.

On January 23, 2012, Dhanuka was appointed to the Bombay High Court as an additional judge.
