Ramgarh, Oct 2: Various programmes were organised on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on Sunday in Ramgarh
Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, Deputy Development Commissioner Nagendra Kumar Sinha, Sub-Divisional Officer Mohammad Javed Hussain and other district and block level officers paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Chowk in Ramgarh city. After this, they participated in the programme organised at Gandhi Ghat.
Floral tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri by other officers including Superintendent of Police, Deputy Development Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer at Gandhi Ghat.
SP Pandey urged people to incorporate the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in their lives and follow the path of truth and non-violence. The SP further said that the true tribute to the leaders would be to follow their ideals and contribute for the welfare of the country and society.
DDC Sinha said that if people follow the teachings of Gandhi and Shastri, many kinds of evils will automatically end in the society. On the occasion, while discussing the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle, he appealed to people to take inspiration from them.
SDO Ramgarh Hussain said that in the present times, people see that the youth of the country are attracted towards the western civilization, while the people of the west are adopting Indian culture. He said that Gandhi always emphasised on self-reliance which ended up being the biggest contribution in the freedom struggle. This is why all should follow the teaching of Mahatma Gandhi.
Kamal Kishore Bagadia of the Muktidham Sanstha talked of the facilities provided to people through Muktidham Sanstha.
