Ramgarh, Oct 18: The 108th camp under the series ‘Mission Pink Health, Pan India Anaemia Detection & Treatment & Control’, a project of the Indian Medical Association, was organised on Tuesday at Narayani High School Barkakana in Ramgarh Cantt.
Notably, started in July 2018, this is a project by the IMA to spread awareness about several life-threatening diseases that women may face throughout their lives.
A total of 265 adolescent girls, boys and teachers participated in the camp and were informed about the mission. They were further made aware of the problems related to menstruation, anaemia, menstrual hygiene, good touch and bad touch, proper nutrition, and female feticide.
Dr Nidhi Bajaj and Dr Sudhir Arya were the speakers and gave information on routine and the right nutrition.
Moreover, Iron tablets, sanitary pads, ORS sachet, soap, biscuits and Albendazole tablets were distributed among all students.
The event was organized in collaboration with Amarjeet Bharti and Dubey Ji Lab Technician. Principal Pratap Ranjan Singh and other teachers appreciated the initiative and urged Dr Santvana Sharan to re-implement this ambitious plan. Notably, Dr Sharan is the state co-ordinator of mission pink health Jharkhand, MPH, and WDW, National Vice Chairperson of IMA.
Furthermore, the school was also given a first aid box, and all children were tested for Hb percentage. Here six children were found to have less than 10 grams of hemoglobin.
