Ramgarh, Feb 15: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi on Wednesday said that JMM or Shibu Soren along with Congress never fought for Jharkhand, but for the notes. He even went to jail for this, added Marandi.

Babulal Marandi said this while addressing an election meeting during his visit to Barlanga, Gola and Argada to campaign for NDA candidate Sunita Chowdhary for the Ramgarh assembly by-election.

Furthermore, he commented that there are several reasons for not voting for Congress. “Congress was a ruling party in the Centre for a long time, during which, Shibu Soren was a partner with the party. During this time, he never fought to make Jharkhand a separate state. However, now, he states that he fought for Jharkhand,” he added.

Addressing his election meeting, the leader asked for the support of the voters and said that after the formation of the Jharkhand state, and becoming CM, he began development work in Jharkhand. He further added that even as an MP from Koderma he helped to develop roads, and provided water, electricity and other things in the region.

He reminded people that along with basic facilities his government also paid attention to the employment of the youth in Jharkhand and said the JMM and Congress are yet to work for it.

He also commented on corruption prevalent in the government and reminded voters that the BJP never auctioned off sand while the JMM and Congress alliance continues to do so.

“But after 2014, as soon as Hemant Soren came to power, he started giving the contract of Balu Ghat to the contractors called from Delhi and Mumbai and started filling his coffers instead of the government’s coffers,” Marandi added.
