Ramgarh, Nov 29: A woman named Naimoon Khatoon, a resident of Bhurkunda Masjid Colony in Gegda, filed a case at Basal police station accusing her husband Alam Ansari of giving her triple talaq and assaulting other family members.
Basel Police has registered a case under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill 2019 and sections 341, 323, 498-A and 34. Station in-charge Amar Shukla told that an investigation has been started after registering a case.

In the application, Naimoon said that she was married to Ansari in April 2018 when she was 20 years old while her husband was about 51 years. He already had five sons, three daughters and grandchildren.
“My parents were very poor. When the marriage proposal came, my parents refused at first. But later Alam and Taukir Ansari, the mediator, persuaded them by mounting pressure. The nikah took place in Masjid Colony Gegda. Everything went well for a year. Meanwhile, I had a son too who is currently three-year-old,” Naimoon said in the complaint.
After the son’s birth, Naimoon was harassed by Alam. Despite being a victim of oppression, she stayed at home for the sake of her son. But in September 2022, Alam left her by giving her triple talaq.
After this incident, Gegda and Chikor Anjuman Committee were also informed about the matter but no step was taken in this regard.
