MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, Nov 8: DAV Public School, NTS Barkakana on Monday celebrated Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary with devotion and grandeur. A cultural programme was organised on this occasion where a speech depicting the virtuous acts of Guru Nanak was delivered. A quiz based on his life was also organised for the students.

Students from classes LKG to V participated in the get-up of Sikh men and women and recited ‘Guruwani’. The whole of the school resounded with the chant ‘Jo Bole So Nihal, Sat Shree Akal’.

School principal Dr Urmila Singh in her message to the children said, “It is our culture and tradition to celebrate festivals of every religion in our school so that our children may develop a sense of respect and equality for every religion. Our children are the future of the nation and they must understand the diversity of our culture from the very beginning.”
