Ramgarh, Aug 17: A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was organized under the chairmanship of Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar on Thursday in the District Collectorate Conference Hall.

The DC directed the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), headquarters, to coordinate with the officers of NHAI to mark the accident-prone spots in the entire Chuttupalu Valley and install signage boards at those places in sufficient numbers. He further directed him to complete the work of ensuring the availability of accident prevention awareness messages and other necessary information, including ambulance within 10 days.

Taking seriously the non-working of the lights installed in the Chuttupalu Valley and the possibility of an accident due to this, the DC directed the NHAI officials to ensure the timely functioning of all the lights. He warned the officers of NHAI in case of disobedience of the said order.

On the possibility of an accident due to dry trees around the roads, the DC instructed the Executive Engineer, Road Division, and other concerned officers to mark all the dry trees  in their respective areas within three days and send the list to the concerned Forest Divisional Officer.

During the meeting, Divisional Forest Officer, Deputy Development Commissioner, district-level senior officials/officers, NHAI officials, executive engineers and others were present.
