Ramgarh, Nov 17: A Ranchi Excise Department team raided a government liquor shop running near Airtel Tower Bhurkunda on Thursday on information about sale of spurious liquor. It may be known that on the approval of Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited, liquor is being sold in the liquor shop of Bhurkunda under placement agency Sumit Facilities Enterprises.
The raiding team searched the godown along with the liquor shop and several adjacent godowns for liquor. During the search, liquor bottles kept in sealed open boxes were scanned. And the documents were also checked. During the search, spurious liquor of Imperial Blue 375ml and McDowel 750ml were recovered. After which two people including the salesman of the shop were taken into custody and taken to Ramgarh.
The team members told that Ranchi Excise Commissioner Kameshwar Prasad Singh had received a secret information that spurious liquor was being sold in the Bhurkunda government liquor shop. Assistant Commissioner Ajay Kumar said that after investigation in the liquor shop, duty paid spurious liquor and diluted liquor have been recovered.
The salesman has been taken to Ramgarh for questioning. Further, action will be taken on the instructions of the higher authority. Prem Oraon Inspector excise Department, Pankaj Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Anu Pratap Inspector, Bhurkunda Police ASI Ram Sarikh Tiwari, Naveen Kumar of IRB Force, Amresh Kumar, Sikandar Mandal and Constable Devendra Kumar, Ravikumar, Chinta were present in the raiding team Jharkhand Home Guard team including Lal, Raghunath Kuddu, Shailendra Yadav were also present.
