Ramgarh, May 18: Four youths, riding two bikes and pretending to be election workers, escaped with Rs 2 lakh from the staff of a marble shop at Naisarai under the Ramgarh police station area.
On being informed about the incident, the police reached the spot and inquired about the matter. They investigated the footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby and started identifying the youths riding the bikes.
According to the information, the staff of a marble shop on Ranchi Road was going to Ramgarh by bike with Rs 2 lakh. Meanwhile, near Kshatriya Dharamshala of Naisarai, four youths riding two bikes stopped the staff and started checking his bike.
They said they are the polling personnel and since the panchayat election is going on, the checking is being done. They seized the money from the staff and rode off on their bikes. By the time the staff could understand something, the four youths had run away.
“So far, any written complaint has not been lodged. Although, we are investigating the case,” said Ramgarh inspector Rohit Kumar.
