Ramgarh, July 6: In view of the road accidents occuring on a daily basis, the Jaan Bachao Sangharsh Morcha organised a day-long protest at Patel Chowk. People of various social and political organisations protested against the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) raising slogans.
The people of the organization said that from 2010 to 2011, the construction of four lane road started. In the road accidents from Chuttupalu Valley to Patel Chowk Kankebar so far, many people have been killed whereas more than hundreds have been injured. Hundreds of road accidents have happened. Many vehicles also caught fire, in which the drivers of one or two vehicles were burnt alive along with the vehicle.
The construction of the flyover started in Patel Chowk from 2020, since then hundreds of vehicles have crashed. There is a technical glitch in the road construction between Chuttupalu Valley to Patel Chowk, due to which the Jaan Bachao Sangharsh Morcha has put forth many demands such as:
1) Construction from Chuttupalu Valley to Patel Chowk should be rectified after checking by high level experts.
2) Arrangement should be made for sand dumping at four places from Valley to Patel Chowk.
3) A police post should be installed near the gate and heavy vehicles should be stopped and suggested to move at a slow speed.
4) The construction of flyover should be done by rectifying the technical glitch.
5) There are many demands like ensuring the availability of a crane, an ambulance and a firefighting vehicle 24 hours a day in Patel Chowk.
The people sitting at the protest have given a copy of their demand to the Governor, Chief Justice of Jharkhand, High Court, Ranchi, Jharkhand Chief Minister, MP, MLA Ramgarh, Mandu, Barkagaon including NHAI, Ranchi Zone. The one-day protest was presided over by Morcha President Damodar Mahto and conducted by Chintamani Patel.
In the protest, MP and former district president Prakash Mishra, former Congress district president and front secretary Baljit Singh Bedi, former vice president of the cantonment board Sardar Anmol Singh, Prof Sanjay Singh, Rajiv Jaiswal, Dr BN Ohdar, Ravindra Sharma, Ramesh Mahto, Dhananjay Kumar Putus, Sheetal Prasad were present.
