Ramgarh: A Ramgarh court has sentenced one Firoz Ahmed for 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 under the POCSO Act for molesting his minor daughter in West Bokaro OP area of Ramgarh district.

The court of ADJ Pratham Sheshnath Singh delivered the judgement after one year of hearing.

During the hearing of the case, seven people recorded their testimony in the court. The most important witnesses were the victim herself and her mother and aunt.

The incident had taken place on May 15 last year when Firoz tried to molest his 13-year-old daughter who was sleeping at home.  This was opposed by his daughter as well as her mother.  Later, on May 16, the second day after the incident, the victim herself went to the police station and filed an application against her father in which she had accused her father of forcibly having physical relations with her.  After this incident, an FIR was lodged in the West Bokaro police station.  The hearing in this case continued for a year.
