Ramgarh, Feb 8: Four Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) rebels involved in two firing incidents were arrested with arms and ammunition today. The police also recovered cash worth Rs 2,80,000 along with two motorcycles.
The four arrested have been identified as Navneet Kumar from Latehar, Mahendra Ganjhu from Ramgarh, Pawan Rana from Ramgarh, and Shahimam Ansari from Ramgarh.
In a press conference SP Piyush Pandey said that on January 23, at around 7.30 pm, information was received that coal businessman Gajanand Prasad alias Gaju, was shot at by criminals while he was going to his home from Barkakana.
For quick investigation, a raid team was formed under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Patratu Dr VK Choudhary due to which four criminals have been arrested who are active members of the militant group TPC.
Notably, continuous raids are being conducted against other criminals involved in this incident.
At the instance of the arrested accused, the weapon vehicle used in the incident and the levy recovery money has been recovered.
“During interrogation, the arrested accused were told that earlier the incident of firing on coal businessman Nepal Yadav under Ramgarh police station area was also carried out by them,” SP added.
