Ramgarh: Punjab Regiment organises veteran outreach initiative from Jan 15

Ramgarh, Jan 14: The Veteran Outreach Initiative is being organised from January 15 to March 31 under the aegis of the Punjab Regiment that intends to ensure all the grievances of the Ex-servicemen at their doorstep by a team of officers and staff from records.

The Punjab Regiment, who are experts in their respective fields of documenting veterans is named `Hardik Milan with Pujabis`.

The team will reach four districts each of Himachal and Punjab namely Hamirpur, Kangra, Una, Mandi, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Pathankot respectively. The team will also use this opportunity to interact with Zila Sainik Parishad to address the pending issues with the veterans and Veer Naris.

The outreach will begin on the 75th anniversary of Army Day. On this day, General Carriappa took over as the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, who was earlier the pioneer in forming the Indian Ex-Servicemen League with a similar aim. The Punjab Regimental Centre believes that the outreach initiative will be a great success.
