Ranchi admin issues prohibitory order to keep villagers away from elephant

Ranchi, Feb.21: The district administration in Jharkhand capital issued prohibitory order under section 144 of CrPC to keep villagers in the Itki block away from the wild elephant which killed four today afternoon in a fit of rage after being separated from its group.

Under the prohibitory order, gathering or walking of five or more persons at one place (except officials/employees engaged in government work and funeral programs), dealing with any kind of sound amplifier (except the officials and employees engaged in government work) and walking with any type of weapon like lathi-danda, arrow-bow, mace-spear etc (except the officials/employees engaged in government work) is prohibited.

The order issued a few minutes before also prohibits carrying or carrying any type of weapon, such as a gun, rifle, revolver, pistol, bomb and gunpowder besides others (except for officials/employees engaged in government work) and organizing any kind of dharna, demonstration, gherao, procession, rally or public meeting.

This prohibition will remain in force till further orders.
